On the occasion of the 990th anniversary of Thanh Hoa, on the afternoon of 8/5, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in coordination with Nghi Son International Port, CMA CGM Group held the opening ceremony of the international container ship route and welcomed the first container ship to arrive. The first train belongs to the Haiphong China Express container transport service of CNC firm of CMA CGM Group - the third largest container shipping group in the world and the leader of France. This event marked the opening of the first international container transport service route to Nghi Son Economic Zone, Thanh Hoa province, and also the first international container transport service to the North Central region.
In the immediate future, the international container ship route of CMA Group will dock at Nghi Son International General Port once a week. When the CMA shipping line comes into operation stably at Nghi Son port, it will be a favorable condition for import-export enterprises in the province as well as neighboring provinces to save freight costs; contribute to the provincial budget, create jobs for local laborers, reduce the load for road vehicles in transporting goods by containers, and promote investment in Nghi Son economic zone.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho and Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Le Anh Tuan noted and appreciated the decision of CMA Group to open a container transportation service and choose a port. Nghi Son International is the destination of container ships transporting goods to countries around the world. Comrade suggested that Nghi Son International General Port Company always has a solution to modernize production organization, freight forwarding, shipping lines, and import-export customers with high quality; well organize logistic services and apply the achievements of the industrial revolution 4.0 into operation. The Customs officers, the police and the relevant units shall provide the maximum support in the development of local shipping, on the basis of ensuring the reasonable development among seaports in the whole system according to the prescribed system. The direction of the development of Vietnam's seaport system has been approved by the Prime Minister
